{little k: celebrated}

April 19, 2010

I have 3 girls. To me, they will always be my little girls, even if the oldest one is now nearly 17. Naturally, I have a weakness for little girls. Bad weakness. So how thrilled was I to be able to shoot the most adorable 19-month old little girl on the planet? SO thrilled! Like, way, way thrilled. Yes, I just said “like.” I say “like.” Don’t pretend you don’t.

We took little K downtown and followed her around for an hour and a half. Kids sure do make me work harder, but capturing all their little-ness is so worth it! She wore me out, but I’m pretty sure at the end of the shoot, I had worn her out as well. Check out little miss cuteness!

This chic is NOT afraid of the camera. I’m sure she’s quite used to it!

Isn’t she a natural? Rawr.

After a change of clothes, we led her down to the water, where she, like every child, found more fascination in throwing rocks than standing there being pretty. Luckily, she’s pretty no matter what she does!

Is this the perfect china doll or what? One of my faves:

Seriously? Can you get any cuter than this?

Picking flowers for mommy and grandma:

By the time we got to the gazebo bench, she was ready to rest all of, oh… 5 seconds!

Yes, I do have an obsession with feet. Especially baby feet.

ah_davis15

I snapped a few naked baby shots in between changes.

Mom requested some together. It’s obvious that little K gets her gorgeousness from her mother.

Sass. Oh yeah. It’s all sass. This girl has it in gallons.

What child doesn’t like a little peek-a-boo?

The late afternoon sun offered up some of my favorite shots of the day. Girl, thou art gorgeous!

Little K, you were an absolute joy! Thanks for the exercise, and thank you so much for letting me be a part of a gorgeous day! These photos don’t do you justice. Cheers!

I recently had the honor of photographing a very important birthday. Trevor and Alexa are a year apart, but their actual birth DAYS are only days apart. So they had this incredible dual party at the local Little Gym with a million of their best friends and family. Ok, not really a million. But it seemed like it.

As you can see, Trevor loves Spiderman, and Alexa loves Tinkerbell, who actually showed up at the party shortly after I did:

I have to say, Spiderman was a huge hit with the boys and the girls, and Trevor literally jumped up and down when he saw him!

The Little Gym is a great place for kids to work off their excessive energy, and there was much jumping, bouncing, rolling, and playing.

ah_ta4

Being that there was so much to do, it was very difficult to get any one of the 50 kids that were there to be still enough for a photo! But I did catch one or two during a break…

The face painting lady knew how to handle a room full of kids, and she was so good at her craft! Alexa got a princess job, and Trevor chose Spiderman. Naturally.

The balloon dude could work a crowd:

This couple was a close friend of the family and adorable in every way. They will soon be having their own birthday party!

At the end of the day, we managed to get the whole family together, although the kids were itching to get back up and play some more!

Thank you, Trevor and Alexa, for inviting me to your most awesome party! I had a blast! Cheers!
