  • my red Kitchenaid stand mixer that my mommy got me for Christmas. I have this one.
  • Assassins Creed II. Hubby plays this at night and we have a blast getting into the storyline.
  • While I’m at it, I might as well plug Amazon. I’ve used their link in the last two bullet points. Could not have survived Christmas without Amazon.
  • Fireplaces. We have two. One of the only good things about winter.
  • Hot, hot, hot showers. See above.
  • Apple’s new Magic Mouse. Apple finally got it right!

Everyone calls Alex “little Ed.” I don’t see it. It must be because he’s my son, and he’s Alex. Just Alex. So I put some pictures of them side by side at the same age. They are both 16 months in these pictures. It probably goes without saying, but hubby is on the left and Alex on the right. Please excuse my lack of photography skills back in 2006. So, yeah. Maybe. What do you think?

Here’s to Amazon! Cheers!

I recently had the honor of photographing a very important birthday. Trevor and Alexa are a year apart, but their actual birth DAYS are only days apart. So they had this incredible dual party at the local Little Gym with a million of their best friends and family. Ok, not really a million. But it seemed like it.

As you can see, Trevor loves Spiderman, and Alexa loves Tinkerbell, who actually showed up at the party shortly after I did:

I have to say, Spiderman was a huge hit with the boys and the girls, and Trevor literally jumped up and down when he saw him!

The Little Gym is a great place for kids to work off their excessive energy, and there was much jumping, bouncing, rolling, and playing.

Being that there was so much to do, it was very difficult to get any one of the 50 kids that were there to be still enough for a photo! But I did catch one or two during a break…

The face painting lady knew how to handle a room full of kids, and she was so good at her craft! Alexa got a princess job, and Trevor chose Spiderman. Naturally.

The balloon dude could work a crowd:

This couple was a close friend of the family and adorable in every way. They will soon be having their own birthday party!

At the end of the day, we managed to get the whole family together, although the kids were itching to get back up and play some more!

Thank you, Trevor and Alexa, for inviting me to your most awesome party! I had a blast! Cheers!

January 5, 2010

Ok, so did anyone notice that two posts ago I vowed to post more, then totally fell off the face of the earth? I’m going to pretend that no one noticed. But blogging is one of my New Year’s resolutions. I will blog in 2010.

I hate New Year’s resolutions. I don’t understand why we set ourselves up for failure so early in the year. And by ourselves, I mean me. I can’t remember a single resolution that I’ve managed to keep. And yet I keep making them. It’s the thought that counts, right?

So among my many failures this year will be more blogging! Starting now.

I had a wonderful holiday, away from the computer (duh. obviously.) but not away from family and friends. I know everyone thinks they are blessed with the best family and friends, but in my case it’s absolutely true! I couldn’t ask for more. I was way too busy enjoying their company (and drinking too much) over the holidays that I didn’t pick up the camera much. But I did manage a few shots:

My dearest hubby. I just thought that little red light was cool. I hate it when the camera is pointed at me. That’s why I stay behind it.

We were lucky enough to be introduced to the talents of our dear friend Brad (Brad Bo Brad…) for New Year’s Eve. I say “introduced” because we didn’t even get a taste of the talent that he’s keeping all to himself.

Pearl is the cutest. dog. ever. No, she’s not mine, but I wish she were.

And because I found it rather hilarious, here’s a picture of my son, wearing 2 pairs of socks, 3 shirts, 2 jackets, 1 pair of gloves, and 3 hats. So he could go 4-wheeler riding in the freezing cold.

Here’s to the new year! Cheers!
