Right now, I'm sitting at a table on a deck underneath a canopy of trees dripping with Spanish Moss. I'm sipping on a morning mimosa, and the coastal breeze is blowing in my hair. Savannah is my favorite city on the planet, and I am in heaven at this very moment!

It's been a sad, emotional day. We had to say goodbye to our puppy of 15 years this morning. Kipper has been with us almost as long as Ed and I have been married. He was older than two of our children, and has been around for almost the whole lives of the other two.

Every year, Ed and I try to go to at least one photography conference or workshop. We always want to keep growing, and we know that there is always something we can improve. We've been doing this long enough that we know we have the technical knowledge to make a well-exposed, nicely composed photograph. But that's not enough for us. We always strive for creative, beautiful, fine art photography. If nothing else, these learning experiences are great for creative inspiration!

I know I may have mentioned it a time or two (or three, or four...), but our family loves to travel! We're not talking all-out, round-the-world excursions. We're too busy (and too poor!) for that. Road trips are our favorite. We pile in the car, put on a good audio book, jam out to music, or just have silly, family conversations for the hours that we're on the road. Then, we soak up the adventure that always awaits us at our destination! This year, our Spring Break ATV trip was FULL of adventure. And stories. And it's the stories I want to concentrate on today.

Ed and I love to travel. One of our yearly goals is to try and get to as many different places as we can. I prefer at least one trip a month, and this year, we're doing pretty good. I know. It's only March, but we have trips planned for every month through July, except May. And there's still plenty of time for that. 19th Anniversary trip, maybe?

Well, it's the Monday after Christmas, so that means back to work for me. But around here, that doesn't mean that the Christmas decorations come down and the Christmas spirit grinds to a halt. We keep it going for as long as possible! We had such a wonderful holiday, with a house full of love and family. We had lots of laughs, a billion hugs, and even a few happy tears. I wouldn't change a thing.

I love this time of year. Ed and I have so much to be thankful for, but sometimes we get so busy that we forget to stop and enjoy it. I love a day that makes you do just that. With the people we love. And wait, there's food involved? I'm all in.

I promised to show more of our own personal albums, so today I'm sharing the LA travel album I made of the trip Jessie and I took to California. This was a very special trip for me, since it was just her and me (and a lot of dancers!), and I wanted to be sure to document the week's worth of fun that we had! My hope is that one day, this album will be as special to her as it is to me. She loves looking through it now, of course (my kids love looking at themselves!), but later it will be even more important to her when she looks back at it and remembers the mother-daughter time we spent together.
