18 Dec kristin + tyree: promised. a memphis engagement.
Kristin and Tyree have known each other for years. The only problem was that while he was here in Memphis, she lived in Minnesota. They would chat online and talk on the phone frequently, but when the time came that they knew they wanted to date, the distance became wider. So, for their first official date, they decided to meet halfway in St. Louis.
Things started off great, with a casual lunch. Later, they decided on dinner and a movie. Kristin let Tyree choose the movie, not knowing that Resident Evil was a horror flick. Not a fan of horror movies, she at least had an excuse to stay glued to Tyree’s side and hold onto him tightly! Afterward, they strolled downtown for a place to sit and chat, and found a nice lounge that seemed to have good music. However, as time went on, they figured out that the place they had chosen was actually a burlesque club with very scantily-clad dancers. Kristin knew that she had found a keeper when Tyree kept his eyes on her, and not the entertainment!
All first-date fiascos aside, their relationship blossomed, and Kristin finally made the move to Memphis so that they could be together. Later, during the Christmas holidays, Tyree nervously asked for her hand, and Kristin agreed, smiling ear to ear. Christmas was always important to Kristin, but now it had even extra special meaning!
Because of that joyous holiday, Kristin and Tyree wanted to have their engagement photos taken during the holidays. They have just purchased their first house together, so we started the session at their home, fully decorated for the season!
I love this pensive shot of them sharing a snuggle on the sofa!
After warming up, we moved outside. It was a cold, overcast day, and there was ice left on the trees from a recent storm, but Kristin and Tyree rocked it out!
My absolute favorite! I love that you can see the ice in the background.
We took some time for a few individual portraits….
Then Kristin hit me with this, and I died! Girl, you are beyond gorgeous!
Kristin and Tyree, thank you so much for spending an afternoon with us! I had a great time getting to know you, and I can’t wait for your spring wedding!
Here’s to closing the distance. And meeting halfway. And icy trees. Cheers!
