05 Sep Memphis Atrium at Overton Square Engagement Party
I firmly believe that the couples that Ed and I get along with best are those that have similar values as our own. I think that’s true for a lot of relationships, actually. We easily build a rapport and intuitively know what is most important to them. This makes photographing their story and their important moments so much easier! Ed and I have been married long enough that we can tell you in an instant what is most important to us: family, friends, and living a good life to the fullest. We love to celebrate anything (we don’t need much of an excuse for a party!), and as long as our loved ones are near, we’re good.
Most of our clients feel the same way, and we love that! They put family and friends first, and want to have a good time with the people they care about most. Such is the case with Kem and David! They will be tying the knot in November, and we can’t wait for the wedding! It’s going to be amazing. Because THEY are amazing! We could tell right away that they share a very special relationship.
Kem and David recently had an engagement party with a few of their closest friends, and brought us along to document it. It was also Kem’s birthday, so they doubled the festivities for a super awesome party!
The room at the Atrium looked amazing, the band was insanely entertaining, and the food was incredible (wait till you see the cakes!). But you know what I noticed right away and remember the most? Kem and David circled the room throughout the night making sure that everyone else was having a great time. Yes, they were celebrating them, but the main thing they cared about were their family and friends. They passed out thank you notes to everyone by hand. Themselves. David went to the bar himself to make sure our glasses were always full (see why I love them so?). They made sure that everyone was noticed, that every hand was shaken, that every neck got a hug.
They are truly kind, selfless, generous people. I’m so glad we got to celebrate with them! Plus, they’re stylish and adorable.
If this is how they decorate for an engagement party, I can’t wait to see the wedding!
So many gorgeous details! The white, pink, and green theme was perfect, and all the bling added plenty of glam. Perfect for them!
Okay, ya’ll. This cake. Seriously. It was the perfect Tiffany ring box, in edible form. Frost Bake Shop did an amazing job! I could smell this sucker from across the room.
Kem and David started the festivities with a dance…
…but it didn’t take long for everyone to join in!
Ahem. I noticed Kem’s shoes immediately. They were a birthday present from David. The man has excellent taste! What’s even better is that he made sure I got a shot of them (of course, I had already taken plenty)!
My favorite shot of the night. This pretty much sums up how much fun they were having! It was such an awesome night.
Kem and David, you two are not only a beautiful couple, but a role model! I loved everything about this evening, and I know the wedding day will be 100 times better. We’re so excited we can’t stand it! Thanks so much for having us along for this special celebration.
