28 Mar traci + ethan: promised. a new orleans swamp tour.
We all met in front of Cafe Du Monde, early on our first full day in New Orleans. For some, that was a feat, after partying all night on Bourbon Street. We gaped at the two-hour long line in front of the coffee shop, and laughed and joked as we waited for the bus that would take all 19 of us to the event of the day – a tour through the swamps near New Orleans.
Most, like Ed and I, had never been on a swamp tour, and were taken unaware by the amount of fun that was had during the 3 hour trip. If you have never experienced a swamp tour, I highly recommend that your first time be with a large group on a bachelor/bachelorette party. Traci and Ethan had everything planned out, and had rented a boat exclusively for all of us. They brought coolers and their senses of humor, and we laughed all day long. From making light fun of the bus driver to passing a baby alligator from hand to hand, the day was certainly the highlight of the weekend.
Setting out for the swamps, some of the group may or may not have had hangovers.
The bride-and-groom-to-be were excellent hosts.
Yes, people, THAT is an alligator. That was a 12-foot male alligator. This was close enough for me.
But Ed zoomed in close and personal.
The baby tour guide was the star of the show…
Although not everyone was thrilled with his presence!
Our tour guide was awesome, and the perfect guy to drive 19 party-goers on a boat.
Ed did a great job capturing some of the sights.
Group shot at the end of the tour!
Here’s to bus drivers who have no clue what they’re talking about. And a party boat all to yourself. And the swamps of Honey Island, naturally. Cheers!
