Oh, you guys! The blog looks SO pretty today! We are so excited to share this past weekend’s Davies Plantation Spring outdoor wedding with you. We learned three important things at this one:
- Friday weddings are awesome (we may be biased since we got married on a Friday ourselves!).
- EVERY wedding reception should have an Hora Loca!
- Weddings are twice as fun when they’re in English AND Spanish.
We’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time, probably because Ed works with Reed, and we’ve both known him for quite some time. We all knew it would take a special girl to win his heart, and we are thrilled that it turned out to be Val! Not only is she gorgeous (seriously, you guys, they are going to have beautiful half-Colombian babies!!!), but she has a heart of gold and a sense of humor that is twice as funny in her Spanish accent. We fell in love with her instantly, and it’s easy to see why Reed did too.
Val and Reed’s ceremony was full of laughs, tears, kisses on the forehead, and bad pronunciations of vows in both English and Spanish (his in her language, and hers in his). Reed was so eager to make Val his wife that he tried to kiss Val twice before the “I Dos!” Instead, they did what they do best – dissolve into puddles of laughter, holding on tight to each other. It’s my very favorite thing about them!
Val shared a sweet First Look with her dad before doing the same with Reed. The weather could not have been more perfect for a beautiful day on the plantation grounds as we wandered the shade for wedding portraits. Their bridal party, every one of them so good-looking and funny, kept us entertained all day! We wrapped up the festivities in a multi-cultural celebration – an “Hora Loca” that kept the party going all night!
Val and Reed, we can’t thank you enough for allowing us to be a part of such a special celebration of love. Thank you, Val, for putting up with my bad Spanish, and letting me practice with you and your family! Reed, thank you for carrying your trust outside of the office and into our eager cameras! It was such an honor to capture this day. Enjoy a few of our favorites, there are so many!!
