04 Jun LA: Dancing on Long Beach
We’ve finally reached the end of our LA California trip. On our last full day there, we spent the daylight hours in Long Beach. One of my favorite things about LA (and California in general) is the abundance of beaches! Anyplace with sand and water is cool with me, and this was the third beach I’d seen in a week.
We started the day at the Long Beach Pier, after missing the bus. In a long, embarrassing story that I won’t bore you with here, I managed to fail at my room mom duties and got the time wrong for the morning bus meeting. Luckily, we hitched a ride with another parent who had access to a car, and we arrived just shortly after the buses. We all started the day together with wonderful marina views and a little shopping at Shoreline Village (Jessie made sure to pick up several flavors of jerky!).
After lunch, a few of us walked the couple blocks to the beach. It was the only time the girls got to see the water, so I wanted to make sure to get some photos of them on the sand. Naturally, we had to stop several times along the way for some group shots.
The water was still a little chilly, but we spent plenty of time on the sand among the palm trees.
You can’t take a dancer to the beach and not expect to get some dancing shots!
I’m not sure when my little girl stopped being so little. Although she’s always been beautiful!
These three were inseparable the whole week.
Girls will be girls!
When we were finished up at the beach, we made our way back to the buses (we made it this time!) and back to the hotel. We had a few hours to get ready for the Awards Gala dinner that evening, but that will be a post of its own!
Here’s to one more day on the beach. And dancing on the sand. And missing the bus, if for no other reason than to have a funny story to tell.
