27 Mar Senior Graduation Announcements with Basic Invite
I can’t believe that May is going to be here in a few short weeks! May is always a big month for our #ahpseniors. Today, I thought I would give all the Seniors a break from school to start thinking about something fun instead: graduation! There are a ton of things that have to be done before the big day. The first thing to check off the list is to send out your graduation invitations and announcements! Keep scrolling for some great ideas!
Senior Graduation Announcements with Basic Invite

As a mom and a photographer, photo graduation announcements are a must for my kids. They are fun and stylish, and they a great way to use those Senior portraits! With so many invitation websites out there, I want to share my favorite choice for unique graduation announcements. I prefer to use Basic Invite, for several reasons.
MULTIPLE DESIGN CHOICES
Whether your Senior is a girl or guy, academic or sporty, modern or classic, Basic Invite has a design for everyone. It’s super easy to add a photo (or 3 or 4!). There are also several choices for the back of the card. I love using photos on both the front AND the back, and they make it easy to mix and match. They also have foil cards to add a bit of sparkle!
One of the coolest things about Basic Invite that I haven’t seen anywhere else is their almost unlimited color options! You can change the color of nearly any element on the card to match the colors of your photo, or use your school colors. It’s yet another way to make sure your cards are like no one else’s! They also offer over 40 different colors of envelopes to make your invitation stand out even before it’s opened!
MATCHING THANK YOU CARDS
Each of Basic Invite’s graduation designs has a matching thank you card, so you can make sure your Senior sends out their thank you notes with style!
The folks at Basic Invite were kind enough to let me order some samples so that I could post some pretty photos. They are one of the few websites that allows their customers to order a printed sample of the actual invitation. That way, you can see exactly how everything will print before placing your final order.
I ordered three different styles of graduation announcements, each with matching thank you cards. I can tell you that everything printed beautifully, and the colors printed nearly exactly how they looked on my computer screen.
For the first one, I chose a multiple-photo graduation announcement with a single photo on the back. I matched the text on the card to the bright pink in one of my photos (yes, that’s my Jessie girl you see!). The matching thank you card is a folded design with a single photo on the front.
For my second sample, I chose a more masculine, modern design, perfect for a Senior guy. This time, I used the back to feature another photo as well as an invitation to a graduation party. The options are so flexible that any design could be used as an announcement only, or as a party invitation as well!
Naturally, I pulled the turquoise color (my favorite!) from Cody’s shirt to use as the background color for the invitation.
I used the same photo for the matching thank you card, but you could mix it up!
Lastly, I chose something that would feature an edge-to-edge photo. This airy script design is simple, with a touch of feminine calligraphy.
I chose something super fun for the back of this graduation announcement! Basic Invite has an option to add a customizable “year in review” to the back of the card. Each element can be filled in with details from your own Senior. I thought this was a great way to keep friends and relatives informed about what your Senior has been up to all year!
I used a different photo for the matching thank you card, but it’s still cohesive with the script calligraphy and similar design.
One last thing that is super important to me when choosing an invitation company is the ability to store addresses in my account. That way, they are ready to go when it’s time to send out your graduation announcements. Basic Invite lets you do this, and they even give you a link to post to social media so that friends and family can can update their own addresses! My Christmas cards would never get sent out without it, and they even offer recipient address printing at no cost on all Christmas card orders.
The kind people over at Basic Invite were gracious enough to give a coupon code to all my readers! They are offering a 15% discount off your oder with the code 15FF51.
Thank you, Basic Invite, for sending over these samples and the discount! It was so fun to design a few graduation announcements! I hope this post inspires all my Seniors to start designing their own. Graduation will be here before you know it!
