31 Jan Winter Memphis Senior Guy Portrait Session
Ian isn’t unlike your average Senior guy. He’s quiet around adults, but energetic and boisterous around friends. He’s athletic, keeping himself busy and fit on the soccer field, where he plays for his high school team. In his spare time, he can usually be found in front of his Xbox. He prefers comfortable, casual clothes, but has a natural style when he has to dress up. He’s not a fan of forcing smiles in front of the camera. So, when his mom wants Senior photos, he’s already out of his element!
So we’ve taken a guy who prefers sweats and t-shirts and doesn’t like smiling for the camera, and told him he has to dress up and take photos! No problem.
Winter Memphis Senior Guy Portrait Session
Ian | Class of 2019
Ed and I have a teenage boy, so we know how they can be. And we like a challenge! We actually like getting people who don’t like photos in front of our cameras. We have no problem acting like goofballs in order to make sure our Seniors have fun. If they end up liking the process, then maybe we’ve helped mom out a little too!
For this Senior guy session, we want to get great photos for mom, but we also want to showcase Ian’s personality. If he didn’t want to smile, that was okay with us! We actually love a neutral expression for guys. Ian totally rocked the model face! But if I caught him laughing at one of my jokes, I was going to snap that too! If he didn’t want to dress up in a suit and tie, we certainly weren’t going to suggest it! Instead, we broke up his dressier looks with a short soccer session on the field.
Ian is a simple, natural guy, so we wanted to make sure to get some nature in his portraits, too. After we loosened him up on the soccer field, we ended his Senior session at a nearby park, where the sun made for some gorgeous portraits!
Ian, we enjoyed getting to know you from behind the lens! Thanks for being such a great sport and politely laughing at all our jokes. You may not be a huge fan of photos right now, but in a few years, you’re going to look back at these and love them! Enjoy!
