We love when a wedding day is all about the marriage. Not the flowers, the food, or the big party at the end. But the opening page of a love story, one that will last a lifetime. This wedding was one of those. When Erica turned a tearful face to Travis and promised to be as patient, kind, and loving as he has been to her, we knew she meant every word. And when he vowed to keep her safe, to support her, and to always love her, there was no doubt that he spoke the truth. This day was only a formality, because they had already devoted their hearts to each other long ago. They understood that the party at the end was really only the beginning, and that made it so much more than a celebration!

We are officially done with weddings for 2016! We will still be busy the next few months with lots happening behind the scenes and time spent on re-energizing for next year, but we are tickled pink to end this year's wedding season with a bang! We have been on pins and needles for this wedding, this celebration, this couple, ever since their Nashville engagement session! And once you see our recap of their day, we know you'll understand why!

By the time their wedding day came, Temi and Michael had really already been married for nearly two months. They had a traditional Nigerian wedding... in Nigeria. So they may have been legally married, but Temi had to return to her home in the states, and Michael remained behind to tie up loose ends in Nigeria. So, while they were technically married, they still didn't have much time together, nor were they even in the same time zone!

I have a confession. I love fall. I feel like such a traitor admitting that out loud (or, rather, on the internet, which is worse). See, summer is my absolute favorite of all seasons, by a long shot. It's warm. There are vacations involved. We get to swim. It's warm. The daylight sticks around longer. Did I mention it's warm? But autumn signals the end of summer, so I should be completely against it!

You would think that spending a whole day taking photos would get old fast. Not for me - I could take photos all day every day - but for Karen and Derek. I was worried that they would get burned out before we got to the best light of the day. But I needn't have worried! Our carefree and editorial approach to most of the day meant that they were really just spending their weekend how they normally would, and we were simply watching and documenting. We got awesome photos and they were natural and enjoyed the process. Win win!

I love Fall weddings! The weather is cooler, the light is lower and warmer, the colors are vibrant, and nature is splendidly beautiful that time of year! There is no better time in the South for photographers! Deanna and Michael were married under a large tree next to a shimmering lake in early November. Their day could not have been more perfect... for them. They included a little bit of who they are in every part of their day. They chose an outdoor park ceremony at Shelby Farms because they love to be surrounded by nature.

Katie and Steven were married this weekend in a beautiful, outdoor, fall ceremony at Lichterman Nature Center. They could not have asked for better weather, and every detail was perfect! Katie and Steven, you share a very special love, and we're so glad we got...
