Sometimes it rains on a wedding day. Sometimes, it even pours. When life surprises you with unexpected thunderstorms, you have a choice. You can be as dark and foreboding as the rain clouds, or you can be the bright, sunny day that chases them away. When LaQuitta and Mario woke up on the morning of their civil wedding ceremony, rain clouds were threatening in the distance. By the time they were saying "I do," the rain was thundering down outside. But their smiles never waned and their attitudes never darkened - they were married, and that's all that mattered! They had eyes only for each other and cared only about their start of their new life. And because of them, this day was all the right kinds of sunny... on the inside.

When I first spoke with Myesha on the phone, she asked me if I had ever seen Sex and the City. Right then I knew that we could be bffs! As we talked about our love of Carrie Bradshaw, New York city, and Mr. Big, we fell into an easy rhythm that usually comes with years of friendship. And yet I had never met her! I'm always blown away by how lucky we are to meet so many amazing people while doing what we do. Especially when there's a pair of Manolos involved!

I know I don't need to say (again!) how much we love elopements! Remember this amazingly fun yellow and grew courthouse wedding? Michelle and Terrence are a great couple, and we had such a good time with them! Their courthouse ceremony was short, but oh so sweet! They were such great sports wandering around downtown Memphis with us afterward for their portraits. We got to know them better, shared quite a few laughs, and grabbed some awesome photos!

It's no secret that we love elopements! They're short, sweet, and all about the marriage. It might be your first inclination to think that going through security, then waiting in line, only to sit in a quiet courtroom, might detract from the romance of a wedding day, but you'd be mistaken! All those things only add to the excitement and anticipation. A wedding at the courthouse is just like a wedding anywhere else. There's a real bride, a real groom, a real (and ultra legal!) officiant, and after the real vows, there's a real marriage. Michelle and Terrence decided to simplify their day and focus on their marriage. They had a beautiful wedding day, with all the things that they wanted, but without the things they didn't.

A lot of our clients do not hire videographers for their day. This is one reason that we really love surprising our clients with fusion videos! The fusion video is a great way to give an overall sense of a wedding day, and that little bit of movement adds so much! We've found that our clients love having a short preview of their day with all the important moments covered.

We recently got the chance to photograph our first courthouse wedding, and we can't wait to do it again! I've always thought that civil ceremonies are so intimate and sweet! It's a private affair, with only a few family members and friends. It completely removes all the stress and (most of) the planning that a formal wedding involves, and makes it all about the couple. It really concentrates on the most important part of wedding... getting married!
