We are sharing the dreamiest Annesdale Mansion engagement session today! Anahi and Eduardo turned up the heat and made my little photographer heart so happy. We definitely brought out Anahi's inner model. Yowzers. We also learned very quickly that I had to call Eduardo by his full name. Calling him "Ed" was just too confusing! But I think Eduardo fits him better, anyway. It's a very debonaire name! This session had everything - perfect weather, an abundance of style, and romance to spare!
This chilly downtown Memphis winter engagement may have been the coldest one we did all year! Susan and Brad were are rockstars! Not only did they tolerate the cold temperatures while smiling for the camera, they did it without complaining once! We were able to get the last of the Fall leaves in a few of the photos, then finished up with the holiday lights along Main Street. Ed and I loved every minute we spent with them! These two are the sweetest people, and we already know how lucky we are to have them in our lives.
The second Ed and I met with Mallory and her sweet mom, we knew we hit the jackpot! We giggled the whole time we were chatting, and that's always a good sign! Mallory is a stunning girl who runs her own fashion blog. This girl knows style, and we were so excited to capture it on camera! We didn't meet Parker until the engagement session, but we loved him right away too. These two are so easy going, and so comfortable as a couple! After spending a couple hours with them, Ed and I didn't want to leave. We're so glad they will be one of our first 2018 weddings, just so that we can hang out with them again!
Friends, you have never seen a sunset until you have seen it in the California hills! There is something extra special about the light in California, especially when you watch the last of the day's rays sink below the trails in the distance and reflect itself on the brilliant water below. Fair warning: this is a long post! I have soooo many photos to share today from our time in Sacramento!
We made an instant bond with Erica and Travis. We felt attracted to their genuine and sweet hearts, but when we learned that they met and fell in love not far from the place that Ed and I did, we loved them even more! I have always wanted to photograph a couple in the Mississippi Delta. Ed and I began our lives together in the Delta, so when Erica and Travis told us that they wanted their engagement session there, we were totally on board! It felt so good to get back to our roots!
These two are getting married on Saturday. Like, in two days. Like, in "get your act together and do the blog post already, Amy!" We are SO excited to witness the beginning of their new journey, and if it's anything like their Memphis engagement session, we know the wedding is going to be fabulous!! In the meantime, we are so excited to share their engagement session!
We first met with Akeilah and Tony back in July of LAST YEAR, more than a full year before their wedding. We loved them right away, and it didn't hurt that we spent more time laughing with them than anything else. So, you can imagine how eager we were to see them again, and even more excited to get them in front of our cameras!
Oh, you guys! I am SO over-the-moon excited to share this session today! I can't tell you how long I've been wanting to photograph a couple in a canoe. In formal clothes. In the lake. At sunset! It takes a special, adventurous couple to give us the trust and freedom for this type of shoot, and we found it in Val and Reed! They were not afraid of getting a little wet, and just WAIT until you see them standing up in the canoe! This one was one of our favorites for so many reasons!
Emily's smile was the first thing I noticed about her. She has that kind of smile that means every inch of it, that lights up her whole face. You can't fake a smile like that! I knew as soon as I met her that Emily was a kind, genuine person, just like her smile. I also knew that Trey was lucky to have her, so he must be pretty special too. He didn't get to come to that initial meeting, so we were eager to meet him at their engagement session to see if he was as great as Emily. It turns out that he is just as warm and caring as we had suspected. These two make such a great pair!
We don't break the rules often. But special circumstances call for exceptions! With this engagement session, we broke ALL the rules. 1. Only shoot right before sunset. 2. Don't shoot on holidays. 3. NEVER shoot when it rains. 4. Only shoot when the temperature is between 50 and 80 degrees. Yeah, we broke every single one of those. And you know what? I'd do it again. This special New Year's Eve engagement session turned out to be one of our favorites!
