We photographed Jenny's sister's wedding 6 years ago, so when her mom called me for this one, we were thrilled! She told me over the phone, "we're not getting married without Amy," and that warmed my heart and made my day! A lot has changed in the world between the two weddings, and the family had to make some decisions due to Covid. Not only did they decide to change dates, they changed cities!
The details of this wedding day, like so many things this year, evolved several times over the course of a few weeks. I have been so impressed with brides this year! They have all really shown so much resilience and flexibility. Jennifer and Melvin are no different. They just wanted to be married and join their families. Everything turned out perfectly beautiful! I know this day was exactly what they wanted, global pandemic or not.
There is only one word that jumps to mind when I look back on Ashley and David's Loflin Yard wedding day... FUN. Yes, I know "fun" is such a simple, three-letter word. It's not complicated, extravagant, or pretentious. It's exactly what it says it is, and so are Ashley and David. Their day was fun because they decided it would be stress-free and about them. And as you look at their laughing faces in almost every photo, you will be able to see that they are simply fun people. Their day was fun because they are fun.
We had been waiting for this day for such a long time! When we first spoke to Alicia and Nick, we were unavailable for their wedding day. They worked with us and changed their wedding date so that we could be there to photograph them on the most important day of their lives. That means so much to us, and words cannot expressed how blessed we are to know these two! It has been nearly an entire year since their Christmas-themed engagement session, so we were so excited to get our cameras on them again!
