This special couple has a talent that we discovered on their wedding day. One that is rare and hard to find. They can wrap themselves in their own little bubble and tune out the whole world, even while the whole world is watching them. While they are in their bubble, they are the only two people who matter. The “I love you’s” and meaningful glances that passed between them meant even more, because they were the only ones in the bubble. Their whole beautiful, elegant, Persain wedding was a culmination of that bubble, only brought to life for everyone to see!

Emily had been waiting for this summer break for a long time. She's a high school teacher (she taught our daughter, Helen!), and every year, she gets even more excited about the end of the school year than the kids! But this year, she packed her last bag a little more quickly than usual, and hurried out the door with a bit more hustle than the year before. This year, she had even more to look forward to. As soon as school was out, she was marrying her best friend! When she returns to school in the Fall, she will be a Mrs. instead of a Miss. Nothing could dampen her end-of-year spirits! Not even a little rain.

I think it's safe to say that until this day, we had never met a groom that was this excited to marry his bride! He beamed. He laughed. And yes, he cried. He cried big, unabashed, joyful tears that he was not ashamed to have streaming down his face. When he first turned around and got his first glimpse of her, he broke down, sobbed into her shoulder, and then looked at her and said, "you are just as beautiful as I knew you would be." She stroked his face and hugged him hard. Together, they held each other and promised to love each other forever, before the vows were even said. They set the tone for their colorful day - a day full of love, promises, faith, and beauty. Insane beauty! Wendy made the loveliest bride, and David's devotion to her was just as delightful to witness. What a way to start our 2016 wedding season!

We had been waiting for this day for such a long time! When we first spoke to Alicia and Nick, we were unavailable for their wedding day. They worked with us and changed their wedding date so that we could be there to photograph them on the most important day of their lives. That means so much to us, and words cannot expressed how blessed we are to know these two! It has been nearly an entire year since their Christmas-themed engagement session, so we were so excited to get our cameras on them again!

I can't believe it's taken me six years to write this post! The First Look is something I feel strongly about, and I should have written about it long ago. I'm making up for that with today's Wedding Tips photography installment. The First Look is an amazing part of the wedding day! If you aren’t sure about this new tradition, this post will explain why it is a romantic addition to your wedding day celebration that not only adds to the experience but also reduces stress.

On most days, when Amy walks into a room, there's a noticeable shift in the brightness. Her smile lights up the darkest places, and people naturally gravitate toward her. She is a stunning beauty, but she doesn't know it, and that's the best kind. But more than that, Amy is nothing but heart.

LaShunda and Lauchland met in New Orleans, so it is a big part of their love story. They wanted a classy affair with a taste of that New Orleans flair, and that's exactly what they got! Their whole day was completely suited for them. It was the perfect mix of Memphis and Mardi Gras, combining fleurs de lis and Southern hospitality. Their First Look and ceremony were full of tears and emotion, then they partied with handkerchiefs and second line band music. There was no better way for them to celebrate!

I love Fall weddings! The weather is cooler, the light is lower and warmer, the colors are vibrant, and nature is splendidly beautiful that time of year! There is no better time in the South for photographers! Deanna and Michael were married under a large tree next to a shimmering lake in early November. Their day could not have been more perfect... for them. They included a little bit of who they are in every part of their day. They chose an outdoor park ceremony at Shelby Farms because they love to be surrounded by nature.
