We are beyond excited to share this elegant blue and pink Memphis wedding with you today! April is one of our busiest months of this year, and we were thrilled to start it off with Emily and Josh! One of our most favorite things is when we get to photograph a family a second time. A few years ago, we shot sweet Ellen and Bobby’s wedding, so when it came time for Ellen’s little sister to get married, we were so glad they called us!
I knew I loved Tiffany right away when she was not afraid to hug me when we met. I’m a hugger, so for me, that was a great sign! But what I didn’t know at the time was how much I would fall in love with both her and Cody’s whole families. Ed and I are big on family (four kids. duh.), so when we saw how close these two are with their families, that sealed the deal. By the end of the day, we considered ourselves honorary family members, and you can never have too much family!
Emily had been waiting for this summer break for a long time. She’s a high school teacher (she taught our daughter, Helen!), and every year, she gets even more excited about the end of the school year than the kids! But this year, she packed her last bag a little more quickly than usual, and hurried out the door with a bit more hustle than the year before. This year, she had even more to look forward to. As soon as school was out, she was marrying her best friend! When she returns to school in the Fall, she will be a Mrs. instead of a Miss. Nothing could dampen her end-of-year spirits! Not even a little rain.
Weddings usually tend to be all about the bride. Gorgeous gown, fabulous florals, beautiful bridesmaids (see what I did there?). We all know this, and most grooms are perfectly comfortable with it. However, you can’t have a wedding without the groom! Though he may be completely willing to give up the decision making process, he should be encouraged to take part in some of the choices for the day. The groom’s cake is a perfect way to get your groom involved in the wedding – it’s all about him! Seeing as how today is May 4th, I thought this post was particularly appropriate for today! Read on to see some groom’s cake inspiration… and May the 4th be with you!
They don’t do serious. They don’t do sadness or tears (except happy ones!). They don’t do drama, or too much, or too little. They never stop talking. They never stop laughing. And these are only a FEW of the reasons we love Erin and Donny so much! Their officiant described them best during their wedding ceremony when he said, “Not only do Erin and Donny LOVE each other, but they sure do LIKE each other a lot! And they like doing life together.” Yes. That.
On most days, when Amy walks into a room, there’s a noticeable shift in the brightness. Her smile lights up the darkest places, and people naturally gravitate toward her. She is a stunning beauty, but she doesn’t know it, and that’s the best kind. But more than that, Amy is nothing but heart.
We knew we loved Bethany and Zac the minute we met them! Bethany has style in abundance, and a sense of humor that keeps everyone laughing all day. Her smile lights up the room, and she is the most loyal friend. Her determination is enviable. Zac is tender and quiet where Bethany is outgoing and boisterous, in all the best ways. He is extremely heartfelt and generous, and just recently raised over $200,000 for the Boys and Girls Club. Yet Zac is fun-loving, while always taking charge when needed. Together, they make a mirthful, organized team. In short, they have everything they need, and they compliment each other perfectly!
There’s something so special about the New Year. It’s full of new beginnings, new chances, new opportunities, new goals. The start of a new year brings a fresh wealth of as yet unknown experiences. These special moments are full of potential, just waiting to happen. April and Reggie knew that they wanted this year to be extra memorable. They started it off right with a sparkling New Year’s Eve wedding! They celebrated this intimate affair with only their closest loved ones. What better way to ring in the start of a brand new year than with a brand new marriage?
I have a confession. I love fall. I feel like such a traitor admitting that out loud (or, rather, on the internet, which is worse). See, summer is my absolute favorite of all seasons, by a long shot. It’s warm. There are vacations involved. We get to swim. It’s warm. The daylight sticks around longer. Did I mention it’s warm? But autumn signals the end of summer, so I should be completely against it!
We recently got the chance to photograph our first courthouse wedding, and we can’t wait to do it again! I’ve always thought that civil ceremonies are so intimate and sweet! It’s a private affair, with only a few family members and friends. It completely removes all the stress and (most of) the planning that a formal wedding involves, and makes it all about the couple. It really concentrates on the most important part of wedding… getting married!
