The details of this wedding day, like so many things this year, evolved several times over the course of a few weeks. I have been so impressed with brides this year! They have all really shown so much resilience and flexibility. Jennifer and Melvin are no different. They just wanted to be married and join their families. Everything turned out perfectly beautiful! I know this day was exactly what they wanted, global pandemic or not.
The pandemic certainly has changed a lot of the way we live our lives these days. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. Businesses all over the world have had to change and adapt, including ours. I may be a little biased, but I think engaged couples, along with high school Seniors, have had to endure the biggest bummers that this year has brought. They have had to plan and celebrate experiences that only come once in a lifetime, in a year of restrictions so heavy that they are sometimes hard to bear. And yet, they all continue to surprise me by not only making the best of current circumstances, but turning this year into something never to be forgotten. Not for all the bad things, but because of all the good.
When Covid-19 hit, Tennison and Shea considered many different options for their wedding, which was originally scheduled right in the middle of what turned out to be a quarantine. In the end, they decided that they weren't going to let a global pandemic keep them apart. They went ahead with their originally scheduled wedding, but with lots of unique changes. We are so glad they did! Ed and I agree that their wedding day was even more special due to the circumstances. They will definitely never forget it!
We recently shot the sweetest, most emotional intimate wedding in Oxford. Hanna and Trae decided that they didn't want a big wedding. They considered a courthouse elopement, then a friend offered to let them use his land for their short ceremony. They knew right away that it was the perfect decision for them, and it was a gorgeous place for their ceremony and portraits!
