Oh, you guys! I am SO over-the-moon excited to share this session today! I can't tell you how long I've been wanting to photograph a couple in a canoe. In formal clothes. In the lake. At sunset! It takes a special, adventurous couple to give us the trust and freedom for this type of shoot, and we found it in Val and Reed! They were not afraid of getting a little wet, and just WAIT until you see them standing up in the canoe! This one was one of our favorites for so many reasons!
Instead of flowers, he brought her a gold star. Everyone does flowers. Cody wanted to impress Tiffany, and give her something that would last and that she would remember. And, okay, maybe he was trying to get a laugh out of her too. Cody is a funny guy, laid-back and lighthearted, and girls love a guy who can make them laugh. It worked, as Tiffany has been charmed by him since the beginning!
This wedding already has such a special place in our hearts! The day was completely beautiful, from the preparation details to the huge magnolia garland curtain. But the one thing that most made the day so wonderful was the unique, AWESOME way that these two love! Laura and Evan are so in love, and you will soon see proof of that - it's impossible to miss. They put so much of themselves into their wedding, and that is what makes it an immediate favorite! It was a day full of heart, beauty, and personality!
For girls, turning 16 is a big deal. We've given each of our girls one big birthday party - on their sweet 16th birthday. It's the only one where we really go big. At least for our standards. Jessie is the last of our girls to turn 16, and all she asked for was a flower crown and a photoshoot. A girl after my own heart! We were more than happy to give in!
Kelli and Josh met at work. He's a pilot, and she worked at the same airline, so they would ocassionally bump into each other. Sometimes working in the same place puts a strain on a relationship, but that was never a problem for Kelli and Josh! They knew early on that if they could work together day in and day out, their relationship had promise!
Cheryl's and Omar's wedding was simply spectacular. The weather was great, Heartwood Hall was beautiful as always, and the bride and groom were absolutely gorgeous! So how could a day like that get any better? With sunset and a lake!
Cheryl is the kind of girl who does things herself. She owns her own business. She adores cooking, enjoys the challenge of learning a new, complicated dish. If she doesn't know how to do something, she figures it out. And she's not afraid to open a bottle of champagne by herself, at her own wedding. She's independent. She doesn't need anyone else to take care of her.
We all started the day unsure of how it would go. Clouds filled the morning skies, and rain was threatening, though none had fallen yet. But as the time drew nearer to to moment when Annie and Larry would devote their lives to each other, the sun had come out, and the day was beautiful. It was the first of many signs that this day was meant to be!
Kathleen and Joey knew instantly that they were meant for each other. Their first date soon led to a second, and the second soon led to forever.
When Joey decided that it was time to make Kathleen his wife, he planned a romantic proposal at their neighborhood lake. He decorated the arbor at the pier with dozens of photos of the both of them and lit candles to set the mood. Completely unaware of what was about to happen, Kathleen was confused at first at the sight of the candles when Joey led her to the pier. Although Joey was hoping for a private moment, a few people had gathered nearby, curious about the candles. Unsure whether or not they should interrupt whatever was going on at the pier, Kathleen was hesitant, then shocked when she saw all the photos of her and Joey.
Their guests knew what an important day it was. It was a small gathering, with only those friends and family who were most important to them. This day wasn't just about the start of their new marriage, it was about the start of their new...
