There's always a point in the wedding day when I know for sure that a couple is meant to be together. It may be something special the officiant says during the ceremony, a telling story during toasts, or even a quiet giggle or look that the couple shares when they think they're alone. Laura and Chad's day was full of little moments like these, but the one that really stuck with me happened when Laura was opening her gift from Chad. She pulled out a gorgeous necklace that he had chosen for her, and with glistening eyes, said, "he knows my style even better than I do!" It was a little thing, perhaps, but that simple gift said, without words, how much he knows and understands her.

Happy. Happy is the word that best describes Diana Clair and Brian's amazing wedding day! When they walked down the isle of their family church in West Memphis, Arkansas as the newly minted Mr. and Mrs., a full gospel choir enthusiastically sang "Oh Happy Day." Diana Clair even had the phrase inscribed on some of her wedding details. Both of them smiled throughout the entire day, their happiness so obviously written across their faces. And it was contagious - they naturally make everyone around them happy! Most of all, it is easy to see how happy they make each other. We are so excited to share this wedding today, and all the JOY that went with it!

We have such a treat to share today! This Memphis Southern School of Optometry wedding was definitely one for the books. There was almost too much awesomeness to handle! Almost. I wish I could share absolutely every detail about this beautiful day, but I would quickly run out of space. Grab a seat, and get comfortable. This one is a long one, friends, and with good reason!

When we first met with Emily and Trey, they told us that they didn't want a traditional wedding. With that, we loved them right away! Then Emily said what she really wanted was an intimate, laid-back dinner, where a wedding just happens to take place in the middle of it. We loved them even more! The best part? They got exactly what they wanted.

Oh, you guys! The blog looks SO pretty today! We are so excited to share this past weekend's Davies Plantation Spring outdoor wedding with you. We learned three important things at this one:

  • Friday weddings are awesome (we may be biased since we got married on a Friday ourselves!).
  • EVERY wedding reception should have an Hora Loca!
  • Weddings are twice as fun when they're in English AND Spanish.

Every wedding we photograph is special and important, but after nearly 8 years of shooting, this one was extra special to us. We were completely invested in this couple, because they are our best friends. Ed works with Jonathan, so we've known him forever, and we've been waiting patiently for him to find the perfect match. We've only ever wanted the very best for him. We're so glad that when it finally happened, it was Jessica!

Erica and Danny had so many friends and family stand up and speak for them over the course of their wedding weekend. As they spoke with love and admiration, one consistent theme gradually emerged. There were so many stories of Erica's beauty, intelligence, confidence, and ambition, but especially how she is not prone to settling for anything less than perfection. She waited a long time for the right guy to come along, but she knew in her heart that Danny was the guy, as soon as she met him. Everyone knew she made the right choice, in the way she glows when she is around him, and in the way that he takes care of and complements her in every way. He was perfect for her, and she was eagerly accepted into his family.

After spending so much time apart, Kimel and Greg were beyond ready to get married! Greg was stationed away from home during his career with the U.S. Army for much of their relationship, so he and Kimel were not only loving long-distance, but communication was limited. Kimel had also moved far away from her Memphis home, so she was also separated from her family. To say that they were both ready for a fun, wedding reunion with all their loved ones was an understatement!

There's nothing like a classic, traditional wedding! A simple diamond solitaire, a lace gown, a sheer veil, classic black and white, and red roses speak more about a couple than it may seem at first. They say love, above all. They say simplicity is a gift. They say relationships will never go out of style. They say their lives will always have a splash of color. They say that coming together with family, friends, and loved ones is all they need.

Kem and David have been together a long time. They knew they were in love. They knew they wanted a life together. They knew forever was not long enough. But they also knew that they had to wait for the right time. So, when that time came, they were tired of waiting! They were ready to get married, and they wanted their new life to start as soon as possible. Their engagement lasted only 3 short months, but they still managed to have the wedding of their dreams!
