Sam and JT have such a fun love story. As every good love story should be, it perfectly embodies their relationship. Theirs is one composed of lots of laughs. Like, lots. These two just can't help but to have fun around each other. Sam told me that their favorite thing to do together... is nothing. Because even when they are doing nothing, they enjoy each other's company. They have an uncanny knack for turning nothing into something fun! As you will soon see, this includes their urban Memphis engagement session. I don't think we've ever had a session filled with so much joy and mirth!
It's officially Fall now, so I'm going to pretend that we photographed this Memphis river engagement session while the temperatures were blissfully cool and fresh fallen leaves crunched underfoot.
But that is not reality.
Reality is that, while it was almost Fall, the temperatures were still uncomfortably hot. Reality is that Alicia and Charles both donned jackets for the sake of the photos, but they quickly removed them after the shutter stopped clicking. Reality is that the leaves on the trees are still stubbornly green and remain fixed to their branches.
We've known Caitlin for years. When our girls were small children, Caitlin and her family lived down the street from us, and she spent a lot of time at our house. Now she's all grown up and getting married (that makes me feel so old)! We were absolutely thrilled that she called us after she was engaged, although we wouldn't have given her much of a choice, haha! We had to reschedule this engagement session due to a typical Memphis popup storm, but I'm so glad we did! The weather this day was bright and sunny, just like Caitlin's smile!
On the contact form on our website, I ask couples to list three words that describe them. This just gives me an idea of the bride and groom's personalities before we even meet, and also makes them think about what makes them unique. When Mary filled out the form, one of the words she used was "rum." I knew from that moment on that we were going to get along fabulously! She also listed "fun" and "kind" and after meeting and spending time with them, I couldn't agree more.
When Emily first emailed me about her wedding, I kept thinking to myself, "This name is so familiar. Do I know her?" I went on to compose my reply, sent it off to her, then it hit me. I immediately emailed her again, asking, "are you by any chance a high school teacher? I think you had my daughter Helen in your English class last year!" I even remembered Helen telling me that her teacher got engaged. It just so happened that Emily was that teacher!
