Carmen and Grantley are not afraid to celebrate the way they know best! They wanted a small but short ceremony on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Time to enjoy their closest friends and family present was a priority. They wanted to attend their own cocktail hour. Photos were a priority (love that!), and they wanted plenty of time for them. And most of all, they wanted to be married!

Of all the different kinds of weddings we shoot, the ones at private residences are always a favorite! It's one sure way to have a wedding like no one else's. Marisa and Paul are a couple like no one else, and they would have had a unique wedding no matter where it took place, but their venue choice only added to their originality! They celebrated their love at Paul's grandfather's gorgeous farm in Mississippi. It was the perfect place for their union, and offered them the opportunity to really showcase who they are as a couple. We absolutely love them both, and unsurprisingly, we loved every detail of their wedding. We are so thrilled to share it with you today!

Courtney and Josh never had any real wedding photos. They tied the knot officially with a romantic elopement. When they returned home, they had a celebration to share their new marriage with friends and family. So when Courtney came to me about doing some portraits of the two of them, we were more than honored! The first time I talked to her, she told me that she wanted some beautiful wedding photos that she would be proud to hang on her walls. She joked that the "third time's a charm," and we hope she's right!

We LOVE Southern Weddings, and we have such a sweet one to share today! There's just something so special about Southern hospitality, the soothing sound of cicadas in the trees, and sweating glasses of iced tea and lemonade. Add into the mix a gorgeous fairytale bride in a lacy ballgown, stunning flowers in dripping cascades, and the most ADORABLE flower dog ever, and we are in photographer heaven!

We made an instant bond with Erica and Travis. We felt attracted to their genuine and sweet hearts, but when we learned that they met and fell in love not far from the place that Ed and I did, we loved them even more! I have always wanted to photograph a couple in the Mississippi Delta. Ed and I began our lives together in the Delta, so when Erica and Travis told us that they wanted their engagement session there, we were totally on board! It felt so good to get back to our roots!

I knew I loved Tiffany right away when she was not afraid to hug me when we met. I'm a hugger, so for me, that was a great sign! But what I didn't know at the time was how much I would fall in love with both her and Cody's whole families. Ed and I are big on family (four kids. duh.), so when we saw how close these two are with their families, that sealed the deal. By the end of the day, we considered ourselves honorary family members, and you can never have too much family!

Traveling for weddings always brings new challenges and adventures. We not only have to pack and carry all our equipment, but we need to remember to bring wedding clothes, travel clothes, and toiletries, especially my hair brush. I don't know if ya'll have seen my hair lately, but it's getting pretty long. I definitely am always in need of a brush! Until I don't have one.

I always tell my grooms that Ed has their backs. I'll admit it. As a girl, I sometimes tend to get carried away with the bride. I mean, 90% of the wedding day is all about the bride, right? But one of the reasons I have Ed on my team is to remind me that the groom is in fact 50% of the day. You can't have a wedding without the groom!

We all watched the sky with anticipation. The weather was predicting over 80% chance of rain, and both the ceremony and reception were planned for outdoors. Lori and Kenny had taken a leap of faith and decided against the extra tent for the ceremony site. Rain or shine, they were getting married outside! Lori had a photo of her and Kenny's grandparents, who couldn't be with them, wrapped tightly around her bouquet, and Kenny later said that it was due to them that they had such great luck with the weather.

Andrea and Jimmy are college sweethearts. They met on the balcony of their 4th floor dorm, where they discovered they were exactly 2 floors apart. She was in 253, and he was two floors above, in 453. She knew lots of other girls had their eye on him, but Andrea knew that 2 floors would be the farthest apart they would ever be. Six years later, Jimmy made sure of that when he proposed on that very same balcony where they met!
