Classy Clark Opera Memphis Wedding

One of the very first things Akeilah said to me was, “Our friendship brings the playfulness, craziness, and the candid moments that make us love each other the way we do.” Her wedding to Antonio was centered around family, but it was this friendship and interaction between the two that made it so memorable! Their small family has grown with the introduction of their daughter and with her, their relationship has grown in love and respect for the other. These parents have waited many years to become an “official” family by tying the knot at the elegant and modern Clark Opera Memphis Center. Their wedding was as beautiful as they are, and their reactions while walking down the aisle proves it all!

Alicia + Nick | an Opera Memphis Wedding

We had been waiting for this day for such a long time! When we first spoke to Alicia and Nick, we were unavailable for their wedding day. They worked with us and changed their wedding date so that we could be there to photograph them on the most important day of their lives. That means so much to us, and words cannot expressed how blessed we are to know these two! It has been nearly an entire year since their Christmas-themed engagement session, so we were so excited to get our cameras on them again!

Temi + Michael: Joined | an Opera Memphis Wedding

By the time their wedding day came, Temi and Michael had really already been married for nearly two months. They had a traditional Nigerian wedding… in Nigeria. So they may have been legally married, but Temi had to return to her home in the states, and Michael remained behind to tie up loose ends in Nigeria. So, while they were technically married, they still didn’t have much time together, nor were they even in the same time zone!

nicole + trey: joined: an opera memphis wedding.

It was no secret that we were really looking forward to Nicole and Trey’s wedding. After meeting them for the first time, we knew that we would be fast friends. The engagement session sealed the deal, and later we even helped them decide on their wedding day signature cocktails. Well, at least we helped them drink them! Nicole and Trey love strongly, laugh often, and fully participate in life. It’s clients like these that we love to work with – the ones who become lifelong friends.

alexandria + drew: joined. an opera memphis wedding.

Alexandria and Drew are starting a new life. In every sense of the word. Drew has just officially become a doctor. They purchased a house together just weeks before their wedding. And now, they are embarking on marriage. When Alex and Drew do something, they do it right, and to the fullest extent!

Their wedding day was full of personal details, from lots of little nods to Alexandria’s Chinese heritage to Drew’s love of golf (hey, he’s a doctor!). It was beautiful and perfect, just like them. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family – a very eclectic mix of people, which just goes to show how well they include everybody, and how everybody loves them.

Nothing and no one was overlooked. And that’s just how Alexandria and Drew live life. Together.

Alexandria’s and Drew’s wedding ceremony was held at Schaeffer Chapel, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Alex’s stunning gown was perfect for her! She was so excited about the dress that she didn’t let even her bridesmaids see it before the big day.

Michael Doyle did a beautiful job with the flowers!

Alexandria looked simply gorgeous. All day.

Drew wasn’t half bad either!

Alexandria lit up when she saw her groom at the end of the isle.

But I think Drew was even more thrilled!

The ceremony was beautiful, and Drew could not take his eyes off his bride.

Dr. and Mrs.!

We took a little time to record their first few minutes as husband and wife. Their joy was palpable.

Alexandria, you kill me with your gorgeousness! Photo on left is Ed’s.

My favorite.

Special thanks to Valarie Powell for Alexandria’s beautiful hair.

Alexandria, you are one lucky girl. But you know this.

So. Happy.

Alexandria wore beautiful Chinese jewelry that’s been in her family for years.

Opera Memphis was set up perfectly for the reception. LOVED their cake topper!

The First Dance…

And I’ll end with this photo that I absolutely LOVE. Alexandria was having so much fun, and she didn’t want to miss a minute of it!

Alexandria and Drew, I hope China was a blast! I can’t wait to hear all about it. Thank you so much for the honor of documenting your very special day. It could not have been more perfect!
