Today, my sweet Helen is 16. Birthdays are strange. I always know they're coming, but as a mom, they always sneak up on me in a bittersweet kind of way. I don't need much of an excuse for a party, and I love celebrating, but it's hard when your kids get one year farther from being a kid. For a girl, 16 is a big deal. It's the year when you finally get to leave girlhood behind. Sniff. And Helen is growing into such a lovely young lady! She is quiet, yet sure of herself. Beautiful, yet strong. Shy, yet the bonds of friendship are fierce. Sometimes it's hard to see into her little world to figure out exactly who she is, but it's obvious that she knows. She has a quiet confidence, a style all her own, and she enjoys being different. I love that about her!

Morgan and Mike started their relationship long distance, and they have done a lot of traveling since the beginning. So it was only natural that when it came time to tie the knot, they wanted a destination wedding. They both now live in Atlanta, and they wanted somewhere close enough that their friends and family could drive and celebrate a whole weekend with them. When they saw the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, they knew they found the perfect place!

9 years ago, I got the best birthday present of my entire life: a son. It took us 4 kids to finally get a boy (but I wouldn't trade a single one of my girls for anything!). He came at a time of struggle and change in our lives, and his timing could not have been more perfect! He is a blessing in every way.

I think it's cool how America not only adopts our own celebrations, but we also celebrate those of other countries. We are aware of all the different cultures that have gone into making our own, and that's one thing I love about being an American....

We met new people. We hung out with old friends. We walked the city streets of Atlanta's downtown. And we enjoyed every second of it. On the last day of the conference, after the last class, we met with another Memphis photographer and celebrated with...

Usually I end my post titles with a period, but I thought this one warranted an exclamation point! Even the oldest is awake early because this is her favorite day of the year. That's right. Halloween even trumps Christmas around here! Well, at least it comes...

I can't believe it's been 8 years since we were blessed with a little boy. I wouldn't change a minute of it, other than to maybe slow time down a bit. It passes so quickly that I'm often afraid of missing something. He makes our...

One of my favorite parts of my job is meeting other wonderful people in the industry. Andria, of Andria Lewis Events, is one such person. She is a true wedding planner extraordinaire, and works hard to make the day run smoothly. One thing that we...
