I'm a mom of three girls. So I not only know how hard it is to be a girl, I know how hard it is to raise a girl. Especially in today's world, which is so full of hate, judgement, cynicism, and comparison.
I'm on a mission. I'm on a mission to teach young ladies all about self love. That every girl is beautiful, no matter their size, shape, color, or age. That you only get this one body in this one life. To make it the best it can be, and to treat it with the respect it deserves. That self love doesn't only mean appreciating your own body, your own face, your own feelings, but caring for those of your peers as well. I'm on a mission to not only make young ladies look natural and beautiful, but to feel beautiful!
If you haven't noticed yet, our website just got a brand new makeover! We love with the new look, and we are even more excited that we are officially now offering Senior Sessions! We recently photographed Bailey, and we're thrilled to share her session as the first one on the new blog!
It is officially Spring here in the South! The weather went from freezing to hot (we only seem to get two temperature settings around here!), and the flowers are in full bloom! We’re about a month away from high school graduation, but our Senior sessions are still going strong. We’re so excited to share this one with you today!
When we do Senior portraits, it's usually a parent of the Senior who contacts us. With Trista, this wasn't the case. She contacted us herself, so we were super honored to do her session. We love love love it when a Senior is invested in her own photos! Her session was right at the end of the year last year, before the last of the leaves fell from the trees. The Fall color was amazing, making the golds, greens, and even a few reds just pop! Combined with Trista's beautiful style, it made for perfect portraits!
Oh friends, I am so excited to share this special Senior session with you today! We are so lucky to know some really talented dancers (other than our own, of course). A few of them in our company will be graduating this year, and we will be super sad to see Lauren go! We were honored when she asked us to do her Senior photos for her, and more than happy to document this special year for her and her family. We were especially excited that she wanted to incorporate some ballet photos! Be sure to scroll all the way down to watch the fun highlight film we put together for her (and to see her dance)!
Things have kinda been slow here on the ole blog lately. Part of the reason for that is that Ed and I have been busy the last few months building the Senior side of our business! We will have more news in that department coming soon, but in the meantime, we have quite a few sessions to post! We LOVE Senior sessions! I think we get along so well with teenagers because we have so many around our own house - it just feels natural. Well, that, and we're both still so young at heart! One thing we love to do for our Seniors is create a special highlight video for them. This is such a special (and fleeting!) time in their lives, and we know this video will be even more treasured later. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see what we mean!
Our middle daughter is 18 today. You'd think that taking her Senior photos and preparing for college would have gotten me used to this idea by now, but no such luck. It's managed to sneak up on me anyway. So, Helen, as your mother on your 18th birthday, and before you leave us for new experiences and adventures, I have some words of wisdom for you.
School starts next week. I can't believe the summer is already gone! I swear, it seems like we were finalizing our summer vacation plans only last week. Time and I are not getting along this year! Maybe I'm getting old, or maybe I'm staying too busy to notice the passing of time, but it sure does fly by faster than ever before. Helen is going to be a Senior this year. A Senior! So, in the spirit of the approaching new school year, and in stopping to smell the roses while the roses are still blooming, I thought I would share some of my favorites from her Senior photo session.
