The best weddings, to us, are the ones that celebrate family. A brand new family forms the minute a bride and groom say "I do." Two already existing families are joined into one. One family gets a new daughter. The other, a new son. Together, these families spend a whole day rejoicing over love and togetherness. Elizabeth's and Sam's day was all about family. Their siblings stood beside them in the wedding party. Elizabeth's mom was by her side the entire day, sneaking in hugs wherever she could. She shared a special heart-wrenching First Look with her dad. Sam's dad helped him dress in the morning. Elizabeth's grandmother ministered their communion during the ceremony. They were both surrounded by the ones they love the most all day long, and that is what truly made this day so special.

It is officially Spring here in the South! The weather went from freezing to hot (we only seem to get two temperature settings around here!), and the flowers are in full bloom! We’re about a month away from high school graduation, but our Senior sessions are still going strong. We’re so excited to share this one with you today!

We first met with Akeilah and Tony back in July of LAST YEAR, more than a full year before their wedding.  We loved them right away, and it didn't hurt that we spent more time laughing with them than anything else. So, you can imagine how eager we were to see them again, and even more excited to get them in front of our cameras!

We love Mary and Stuart so much - mostly because they are so much like us! They prefer laughs and goofiness over serious, they are not afraid of color, and their love story starts with cocktail hour (and lots of rum)! They live in Florida now, and we are quite jealous. It is our lifelong goal to one day be closer to the water. But mostly, we miss the heck out of them. We know they are headed for wonderful things, but it's hard not seeing their smiling faces on a regular basis. That's one of the reasons we are so thrilled to see their wedding featured on Westchester Wedding Planner!

Things in our lives are never spaced out. They happen all at once, all the time. I've grown used to it, and I'm completely okay with the patterns of our busy family. So it came as no surprise that our biggest dance competition of the year also fell on PROM weekend!

There are some couples that, every once in awhile, come along and make us realize how lucky we are to know them. That make us better. That care more about others than anything else. That, even on their own wedding day, on a day that's supposed to be all about them, somehow make it about everyone else. Michelle and Joe are that kind of couple.

Cheryl is the kind of girl who does things herself. She owns her own business. She adores cooking, enjoys the challenge of learning a new, complicated dish. If she doesn't know how to do something, she figures it out. And she's not afraid to open a bottle of champagne by herself, at her own wedding. She's independent. She doesn't need anyone else to take care of her.

So, it's the first day of Spring, and I'm posting snow pictures. But I figure that since this was a Spring Break trip, it still qualifies as Spring. Yeah. Let's go with that. For the last 4 days of the kids' Spring Break, we decided to take a family road trip to the Smoky Mountains. We rented a (very large!) cabin with no internet, a game room to keep us busy, a hot tub to keep us warm, and a spectacular view!

New life. New beginnings. New season. The sunshine is peeking out more often, and I'm not wearing a sweater inside today. The flowers, while timid at first, are done waiting and have made their minds up to bloom. I plan to do the same. Cold, I...
