28 Sep Brunch Wedding at Mollie Fontaine Lounge
Every wedding we photograph is special and important, but after nearly 8 years of shooting, this one was extra special to us. We were completely invested in this couple, because they are our best friends. Ed works with Jonathan, so we’ve known him forever, and we’ve been waiting patiently for him to find the perfect match. We’ve only ever wanted the very best for him. We’re so glad that when it finally happened, it was Jessica!
For most weddings, I have the luxury of being an outsider, so it’s not too hard to keep my emotions from interfering (except for maybe a good, tearful, First Look! Those always get me 🙂 ). So when Jessica started walking down the isle, I was surprised to find tears pricking my eyes! She stood there with her dad, looking down the isle at Jonathan, and her own face showed such emotion that I realized how much she truly loves our friend.
In that moment, it hit me that we weren’t just doing our JOB. We were there to celebrate with these two, our best friends, who were about to pledge their lives to each other. We could not have been happier for them! So, with a sigh to shake it off, I pulled myself together and documented this oh-so-special day.
Jessica and Jonathan had a brunch wedding, which meant starting at the crack of dawn for photos. We are usually waiting for sunset on wedding days, but for this one, we were waiting for the sun to rise!
Jessica, you were a stunning bride!
Jessica and Jonathan chose to see each other before the ceremony, and their First Look was one of our favorites! I LOVE the reactions on each of their faces. If you don’t know them, this is so them!
Because they opted for a First Look, we were able to get so many portraits, both downtown and at the Memphis Botanic Gardens.
I think this one is my favorite, though it’s impossible to choose! I’m so biased!
Jonathan always has the best socks, and I knew Jessica would have killer shoes!
There’s so much to be said for a small, intimate wedding party! I loved these girls. so. much.
The Iris Garden looked gorgeous, all dressed up for a wedding! Ashlye McCormick did an amazing job with the floral design!
And this is about when I became a blubbering mess.
Bruch was served at Mollie Fontaine’s Lounge, and it was the perfect place for a reception! Seriously, though, that cheese spread? All the heart eyes!
Such a sweet First Dance.
Luckily, my children were present, so I made Jessie take a photo of the four of us (even though I was a mess at this point)! It may be my favorite photo of the day 😉
Jessica and Jonathan, I don’t know what to say. It means the world to us that you allowed and trusted us to capture the most important day of your lives (other than when you met us, of course)! We know you will have the happiest of marriages, and we can’t wait to go along for the ride! We love you! Cheers!
