13 Aug courtney + phillip: joined. a memphis wine-themed wedding.
Their guests knew what an important day it was. It was a small gathering, with only those friends and family who were most important to them. This day wasn’t just about the start of their new marriage, it was about the start of their new family. When Courtney and Phillip stood at the altar and pledged their lives to each other, they knew they were not only joining their hands, their rings, but also the hearts of their children. After this day, they were finally one.
Courtney and Phillip’s day was full of their own personalities. Courtney’s sense of humor was obvious when the care package she sent to Phillip that morning contained socks for his cold feet, and breath mints for that very important first kiss. Phillip, who is a chef and maker of fine chocolates, made sure that the food, and especially the cake, met his standards (and it did!). Together, they love vineyards, Napa Valley, and fabulous wine, and made sure that their love of wine was truly represented.
At the end of the day, they included everything that was most important to them: their family, their children, a wine-filled evening of merriment, and each other.
I loved the individual swirled paint envelope liners in their invitation suite! Each one was different.
Courtney, you make a stunning bride!
Phillip is a master of the bow-tie.
Courtney and Phillip chose to see each other before the ceremony, and their First Look was so sweet! This was Ed’s angle of Courtney seeing her groom for the first time…
And this was my view. Phillip’s joy is priceless!
Courtney carried a special cameo tied around her bouquet.
The peephole back of Courney’s dress was gorgeous!
Ed captured this shot of Courtney in the reflection of the nearby window. I love the voyeuristic quality!
I’ve known Phillip for a long time now, and it was such a pleasure to see him all dressed up on his wedding day!
Courtney and Phillip’s daughters made beautiful bridesmaids!
The ceremony was short and sweet, and decorated beautifully with their love of wine in mind.
I adore this shot of Courtney walking down the isle with her dad.
The wedding cake was a culinary work of art.
The First Dance…
After the reception, we ran outside for a few more portraits at sunset. The light was divine!
Courtney and Phillip, it was a pleasure to not only witness your nuptials, but to be the ones to capture it. The day was beautiful, and so you, and we were honored to be a part of it!
Here’s to the important things. And good food. And wine. Cheers!
