12 Jun Intimate Memphis Covid Wedding
When Covid-19 hit, Tennison and Shea considered many different options for their wedding, which was originally scheduled right in the middle of what turned out to be a quarantine. In the end, they decided that they weren’t going to let a global pandemic keep them apart. They went ahead with their originally scheduled wedding, but with lots of unique changes. We are so glad they did! Ed and I agree that their wedding day was even more special due to the circumstances. They will definitely never forget it!
When Tennison and Shea emailed me to let me know that they refused to let Corona keep them from being married, I was so impressed and uplifted by their optimistic spirits. They had their hearts in the right place and never lost sight of the real reason they were having a wedding in the first place.
Intimate Memphis Covid Wedding
Having a wedding in the middle of a pandemic meant a lot of changes. To limit the chance of exposure for everyone, they decided to cut their guest list to 10 close family members. They got married in a beautiful, light-filled chapel in their own church. The intimate space and guest list allowed for them to be truly comfortable and focus on the ceremony, and the chapel made for gorgeous photos!
Afterward, family waited outside the church to congratulate the new couple with thrown lavender. Extended family and friends waited safely in the cars in the church parking lot, ready to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds. When Tennison and Shea emerged from the church, all the cars began honking their horns in congratulations. Tennison, overwhelmed with love and support from their friends and family, broke down into happy tears. Be sure to scroll down for her reaction. It’s one of my favorite photos!
A caravan of vehicles followed the happy couple from the church to their new home. As Tennison and Shea stood hand in hand in the front yard, a receiving line of cars drove by with windows down to yell their well wishes. It was such a happy, joyful sight! Tennison and Shea shared a toast in their yard as the line of cars drove past.
Afterward, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and light to take some just-married portraits at their home. While keeping a safe 6 foot distance, Ed and I got to capture the first 30 minutes of Tennison and Shea’s marriage.
Tennison and Shea enjoyed the rest of their “homey-moon” (I love that phrase!) with an intimate dinner for two, delivered by one of their favorite restaurants. They even had wedding cake! One of my favorite details? They stayed off of social media for a couple days so that they could fully immerse themselves in their new marriage.
I don’t know about you, but I think their day could not have been any more perfect!
Tennison and Shea, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. I know it was more than you ever expected, and we are honored to have captured it! Enjoy this little sneak peek of that wonderful day!
