Kimel + Greg: Joined | a Memphis Winter Wedding

After spending so much time apart, Kimel and Greg were beyond ready to get married! Greg was stationed away from home during his career with the U.S. Army for much of their relationship, so he and Kimel were not only loving long-distance, but communication was limited. Kimel had also moved far away from her Memphis home, so she was also separated from her family. To say that they were both ready for a fun, wedding reunion with all their loved ones was an understatement!

Ed and I could not have hoped for a better bride and groom than we got in Kimel and Greg. They were so laid back and full of joy! They are both the kind of people that if something were to go not perfectly according to plan, they would just roll with the punches and go with the flow. They knew that their Memphis winter wedding was a celebration of their love, and that’s all that mattered to them. Planning a wedding long distance must have been difficult, but you’d never have known it! It was an emotional, beautiful, perfect day!

A wedding day is always better with a Vera Wang gown!

Kimel and Greg got married only 5 days before Christmas, so they embraced the twinkle lights and snowflakes.

If you’re curious, Kimel’s shirt said “I don’t have time to care.” Loved that!

Kimel and her mom have a very special relationship. They are best friends, and it shows. It was so fun to watch them together!

When Kimel turned around and saw herself in the mirror, she gasped and tearfully said, “I’ve never seen myself look so beautiful!” We agree, Kimel. We agree.

Kimel and Greg chose to see each other before the ceremony, and their reactions were priceless!

It was a cloudy winter day, but the light was still bright and perfect for beautiful portraits.

I love this look of our happiness and love on Kimel’s face!

Kimel’s girls were all beautiful and sassy, and they were troopers for standing in the chilly air! I LOVED their bridesmaids dresses with black pashminas!

The guys were all dapper and so much fun!

It’s very rare to get a smile out of Greg, so when he does grin, you know he’s very happy!

This group was so much fun!

And this right here is why I am so in love with my husband, and why I would never shoot a wedding without him. While I’m taking my place inside the church just before the start of the ceremony, he knows to wait outside the doors for just a bit to grab precious moments like this!

Even though Kimel and Greg had a First Look, she still got teary and cried as she came down the isle. Nothing can ruin the emotion in this moment!

I mean, the wedding was beautiful and all, but daaaaaaammnnnn who is that bald-headed dude? He should be president of the universe. And of all good-looking people. Or king. Or emperor. Yes: emperor.

But, really, the wedding was beautiful. And the pictures are beautiful.

And those bridesmaids . . . my, my. There may have to be co-emperors.

Thank you for capturing so many great moments at the wedding. My brother James Fryer walked my daughter Kimel Fryer Otis down the aisle. He most resembles my dad, but when he shared with Kimel that he was wearing dad’s wedding band so that he too was a part of the wedding, it brought joy and tears of happiness to Kimel’s heart. I was a daddy’s girl, and she was a granddaddy’ s girl. Thanks James for your thoughtfulness and thank you Amy Hutchison for capturing this special moment. Kimel with mom was also an awesome shot. They too have a special bond as grandmother and grand daughter. Blessings to you and your talent forever more.
