07 Jun Traditional Mexican Memphis Cadre Wedding
When Anahi and Eduardo told us that they were having a traditional Mexican wedding, I was excited to break out my (very) limited Spanish vocabulary. What I wasn’t prepared for was the amazingness that awaited us when the day arrived! Yes, there was lots of Spanish. But there were also aerialists, carnival dancers, stilt walkers, cotton candy, a Conga line, and an Hora Loca! The ceremony had sweet traditions we’d never seen too, including a floral lasso and the giving of coins. The day’s music was provided by a very talented Mariachi band that had us wanting to dance all day long! At the end of the day, I was convinced that this was the most fun wedding ever!
A Traditional Mexican Memphis Cadre Wedding
I knew we were in for a treat as soon as we arrived in the morning. Anahi was being pampered and surrounded by her closest friends and family. Her details were gorgeous (hello, beautiful gold Louboutins!) and she had even hung all the dresses on hooks she had screwed into her amazing industrial concrete walls! I wanted to keep those walls forever!
Anahi looked like the most beautiful Mexican princess in her Anne Barge wedding gown! Her train-length veil was the icing on the cake. I always say that if you’re going to do a veil, do it all the way! She looked absolutely stunning, and when Eduardo caught a glimpse of her down the isle, you could tell how excited he was to marry her!
Even an unexpected rain storm could not spoil this day! When we had to resort to doing portraits inside, these two did not stop smiling. They were so happy to be married, and eager to celebrate with their friends and family.
And celebrate they did! The reception was full of fun Mexican traditions, and the party went on all night! A man passed out cotton candy on stilts, and handed beads and masks to people on the dance floor. Aerialists poured champagne while performing, and carnival dancers kept the party going while wearing feather headdresses. There was so much to photograph, and we had a blast just capturing it!
Anahi and Eduardo, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your day! It was definitely a day we will never forget. Thank you for reminding us that even though we’ve been doing this for nearly 10 years, there are still lots of things we’ve never seen before! But most of all, thank you both for loving each other with your whole hearts! Enjoy this little sneak peek of your day!
